We also grow up with traditions such as leaving cookies and milk out on Christmas Eve. I feel like traditions and myths are beneficial for children psychologically because it gives them a sense of hope and belief. Traditions may also incorporate family values.

When children are exposed to myths and religion it creates a belief system for the child to grow up with.  Most of us grow up with certain beliefs because it’s what we grew up with.  For example, I come from a Christian family, so growing up I was taught to believe in God and to follow Christianity.  I think this is important for children because having something to believe in gives us faith.

Traditions are beneficial for children because they incorporate family values and also bring families closer together.
